Except, these vehicles do have a full shell around them including car - like features like: headlights, tail lights, signal lights, horn, windshield wipers, disc brakes, drum brakes, trunks, full size car - like adjustable seats, cup holders, ventilation systems, removable roofs, LED lights, paint jobs, adjustable mirrors, full suspension on all wheels, trailers, electric engines and the list goes on. As a result, some people like to call these Velomobiles Cars. As they are very much like them in many ways.
2011 Green Flight Challenge Highlights Video On Monday, October 3, 2011, NASA's Centennial Challenges program awarded the largest prize in aviation history, created to inspire the development of more fuel-efficient aircraft and spark the start of a new electric airplane industry. Three teams successfully met all requirements and competed for the $1.65 million purse in the CAFE Green Flight Challenge, sponsored by Google, over the skies of Santa Rosa, California.
